Release Notes - 5.0 - AO Easy Answers

Release Date

Overview

  • Release 5.0 builds on previous 4.x releases of the AO Easy Answers solution.

  • The 5.0 release focuses on improving answering questions with higher accuracy and consistency, improving performance, and reducing cost (token reduction) in the AO Easy Answers solution.

  • This topic provides a high-level introduction to the new and enhanced features introduced in this release.


New in Release for AO Easy Answers

  • Question Verification - Power Users can now mark questions in Easy Answers as Verified. This "locks" a question in cache, preventing regular users to retry/override previously asked questions through new LLM interpretation. Verified questions are marked with a “blue badge”.   • Spell-Checking and Correction for NLQs - Questions in Easy Answers are now spell-checked and corrected to ensure improved correctness in questions before being processed. The spell-check functionality can be enabled/disabled at the Ontology level as well as in the User Settings dialog per user. See Easy Answers - Asking a Question, and Agent - Asking a Question.

  • View Real-Time AI Reasoning during NLQ processing - During processing questions in Easy Answers, new step-by-step LLM processing/AI reasoning is shown to provide greater transparency in the process. See Easy Answers - Processing a Question, and Agent - Processing a Question.

  • Semantic Templates, NLQ Accuracy, Speed and Lesser Token Use - Semantic Templates can be created from existing questions or generated at runtime. Such templates will improve accuracy, speed, and reduce the LLM token cost for new questions if "matching" an existing template. Templates are generally created in the Ontology Composer used by power users or solution developers, but can also be auto-created at runtime by verifying a question.

  • Add Question Cache to Transport - although available in the Easy Answers solution when viewing the Question History, this is not an end-user functionality. This option allows solution developers to move existing Questions from a development and/or QA system into a production environment. See Viewing All History.


Easy Answers for Mobile

  • The updated Easy Answers for Mobile 2.0 release includes many enhancements, including 20+ new visualizations and updates similar to the main Easy Answers solution (see above). See separate documentation https://docs-easyanswers-mobile.apporchid.com.

Easy Answers Embedded Chat Agent SDK

  • A new Easy Answers Embedded Chat Agent has been released, allowing Solution Developers to embed Easy Answers functionality into any existing or new web application. Functionality is based on the Easy Answers for Mobile framework. See Embedding The AO Easy Answers Agent into a Web Application.


Documentation


Deprecations/Removals

  • The following GenAI/Large Language Models have been removed:

    • OpenAI - All LLMs prior to 5.x models. The AO Platform is now using OpenAI 5.x/6.x models.

  • The AO Knowledge Assistant (custom GPT), available from the Easy Answers Home page, has been removed. OpenAI has announced the sunset of Custom GPTs as of 11 December 2026. Using AI to extract summaries of the AO product documentation can be done from any GenAI system at this point.


Known Issues/Limitations

  • Because of the upgraded OpenAI LLMs in the AO Platform's 5.0 release, some Easy Answers questions that resolve using JOIN between multiple MSOs will generate an AI Response table for the retrieved data instead of one or more auto-curated visualizations (such as regular tables, charts, and map apps). We are working to address this issue in a 5.0 patch release as soon as possible.
